Syenite is an intrusive rock consisting mainly of potassium feldspar and quartz. A large satellite intrusion of the Wolf River Batholith is composed of syenite. Good outcrops occur in a road cut near the intersection of US 51 and SR 29 just west of Wausau. | |

Fresh outcrops are gray; weathered outcrops are dark pinkish gray.
